Each is 6-7/8x9-7/8". January issue has 144 pages plus 16 page ad section including cartoon schools. Striking front cover is titled "Nothing Of Importance Occurred During The Night" showing dead soldier lying on battlefield across barbed wire fence in snow. Contents include article on animated cartoons titled "With The Cartoonists In Film Land" with photo of Rube Goldberg, self portraits of Oscar Cesare and Albert Frueh, photos of Mrs. George McManus and John T. McCutcheon. Covers are a bit worn around edges with trace of lt. dust soil. Overall cover Fine+, inside pages VF/NM. April issue has pages numbered 433-576 along with 16 page ad section. Highlights include illustrated article "How The Comickers Regard Their Characters" with examples of Hans and Fritz, Mutt and Jeff, Jerry on the Job, and Judge Rummy. Issue also includes nice nine page article on Nell Brinkley. Cover has edge wear with pieces missing from spine top and bottom. Overall cover VG, contents VF+. Nice cartoons throughout.
