Item Description
1930s. 7.25x9-5/8x3-1/8" deep wooden box has illustrated paper wrapper around four sides. Interesting concept from early days of TV as first shown at the 1939-40 New York World's Fair. Front and back have a total of eight different side show banner images including two headed calf, snake charmer, fire eater, hula girl, sword swallower, fat lady, midget, strong man. End panels have futuristic graphics of girl looking at strong man image in glass circle w/rays coming through it, possibly the designer's concept of what TV would be like. Side text includes "120 Count 1¢ Each". Complete with long sliding lid. Scattered surface wear, original owner's name and note written in crayon on lid. Labels are worn with a few pieces missing. Overall VG due to label problems. Still nice for display with nice art.
