Item Description
c. 1932 done as a study for Los Angeles Public Library mural. 19x23" high quality textured wood frame has archival mat with 11x14.25" opening revealing 9.5x11" lead and color pencil original art with two Native American heads. Unsigned and Exc. These images can be seen at the left side of the image on page #167 of "Dean Cornwell: Dean Of Illustrators" 1978 book by Patricia Janis Broder. Dean Cornwell (1892-1960) was a major illustrator and muralist during the first half of the 20th century and was president of the Society of Illustrators from 1922 to 1926. Striking images.
