Item Description
1-5/16" by 7/8" tall by 3/16" thick brass miniature of a book has floral designs on both covers and a small loop on the top edge. The book covers fold open and inside are a pair of brass frames with the left one holding a thin paper sepia real photograph of beardless Lincoln while the right frame holds thin paper real photograph of Grant in military uniform. The edges of the Lincoln frame stick slightly to the edges of an interior three sides brass piece which forms an opening for the frames to fold into when the book is closed. However with just a little extra effort the Lincoln frame folds out for display without any difficulty. Both photos are exceedingly clean. Nice brass luster over the entire piece. The right edge of the book once had a tiny brass tab to tightly hold the covers shut but most of the tab has snapped off so the book still closes but not quite as tightly as it once did. From the early years of Civil War.
