Item Description
15/16" with rim hole as issued.  Name of each candidate on the rim with no periods following their last names.  The Lincoln ferrotype has beautiful contrast with incredibly sharp details.  This is referred to by DeWitt as Lincoln portrait Number 1.  There are three tiny areas with near microscopic bubbling of the emulsion however for the most part this shows only in reflected light and the emulsion remains 100% complete.  The Hamlin ferro is even better than the Lincoln side as there is no bubbling at all and it has a near perfectly smooth finish although just a hair more dark than the Lincoln side.  NM bright luster on both sides of the rim.  An Exc. example and very difficult to find with no scratches or missing emulsion pieces.
