Item Description
1-1/8", larger than the typical ferrotype, with near mint luster brass shell rim. One side depicts "Francis Asbury" with his name above his image on the ferrotype while the brass rim surrounding reads "Centenary of American Methodism 1866." Opposite side has ferrotype with name "John Wesley" above while brass rim reads "Children's Medal." Rim is holed as made. The Wesley side is a little dark with a few tiny hairline rubs and a larger 3/16" long area at the base of his hair missing some of the coloration of the emulsion but not removing any of the facial details. The Asbury ferrotype is NM. We've seen only a couple of these is five decades.
