Auction #205 - Part II
Item numbers 1427 through 3167 in auction 205
Item Description
15.75x27.75" high quality wood frame with gold/silver accent color has archival mat with 5.75x19" opening. Contains March 29 strip No.1944 with Superman in costume in all four panels. Though not noted, storyline is from episode #23 "The Obnoxious Ogies" which were numbered 1905-1946 and ran from February 12 to March 31, 1945. Superman has saved a ship at sea and the fisherman thanks Superman by giving him Ogies. Superman soon learns that these Ogies are invisible pixies with a mischievous nature that soon cause havoc in Superman's life. This example is towards the end of the sequence and has invisible Ogies about to leave after Superman uses ventriloquism to get rid of them. Art appears to have been penciled by Wayne Boring and inked by Stan Kaye. Portion of McClure newspaper syndicate applied paper sticker apparently was missing the copyright year and was replaced with the wrong year of "1944", likely based on the fact that the strip is numbered 1944. A prime example with superb images of Superman throughout. Ready for display.
