Item Description
This is an exceptionally tall badge at 9.75". The piece is by W&H and has numerous company markings. At the top the brass luster white metal pieces consist of a pair of bars with cello inserts reading "Massachusetts/July 27, 1904." Below this is the medallion with inset full color 1" celluloid. The weight of these metal parts have caused some stress lines and small areas of fabric separation but mostly behind the metal pieces and just below the bottom edge of the larger medallion. In addition there is some horizontal separation of the fabric in the lower areas where the gold type is positioned but the text remains near 100% complete. The text reads in full "Member Of Committee/To Notify/Theodore Roosevelt/Of New York/Of His Nomination/By The/Republican/National Convention/Of 1904 For/President/Of The United States." A rare and extremely limited historic badge. The celluloid and metal parts are Exc. while the fabric ribbon is at least VG with all text easily readable and complete.
