Item Description
Roosevelt was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906 for his efforts to end this 1904-05 war, deemed the first great war of the 20th century. These three pro-Japan buttons are from 1904. First is 7/8" reading "Help Japan." Has Torsch & Franz backpaper and rare. NM. Second is 1.25" reading "Victory To The Japanese Army And Navy." No backpaper but has W&H name on the curl. Couple of exceedingly faint gray age dots barely showing. Last is 1.5" with W&H backpaper that has some spotting. This was issued at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Button includes same text as previous item with additional text "Celebrate Japanese Victory/On The Pike/At The/Fair Japan Restaurant." Cello is Exc. and displays Mint.
