Item Description
After a stint as mayor of Chicago from 1905 to 1907 Dunne became governor of Illinois following his 1912 victory. His 1916 reelection bid failed. These four items would be in the 1912-1916 time frame and include a rare litho name button. In order of our photo left to right and top to bottom first is a 1" wide all celluloid tab reading "Wilson And Dunne." Tiny scratch at left of circle but barely showing. Second is 15/16" litho button which almost certainly has to be from 1916 as it has the reverse imprint of the company J.L. Lynch which shortly after this began producing millions of Liberty Loan buttons. Third is 1.25" reading "Well Done Wilson And Dunne." Button is slightly flattened with two tiny indent dots at far upper left and a single pinpoint rub on extreme bottom edge. Vast majority displays cleanly. Last and most ornate is 7/8" "Young Men's Wilson-Dunne Club" with Chicago union bug on curl. Exc. and displays Mint. This button alone has sales records exceeding $100.
