Item Description
8x10.75" softcover with gold foil covers titled "Black And Gold 1948" with image of plane on front cover. Contains 64 bw slick paper pages published by the Journalism Department of Fairmount High School Fairmount, Indiana. Next to last page is titled "Autographs" with numerous signatures. Includes "Jim Dean 'Rack'" in ink. Nickname "Rack" likely refers to Dean's skill at billiards. Dean is shown in six different photos throughout book. Includes individual photo in underclassmen section, photo as member of 4-H Club, as member of speech department, in basketball uniform with ball, as member of "F" club, and as member of junior class play. Cover has some dust soil and light wear around edges and has pulled totally loose from insides. Overall cover VG, contents Exc. with nice signature. Limited printing due to the small size of this school. A wonderful piece of history from James Dean's junior year of high school. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
