Item Description
First is "Prohibition Party" ballot listing Faris for president and Marie Brehm for vice president. A number of electors are printed below although the paper has been trimmed off at the bottom. Its overall size is 3-5/8x8.75". A few creases and tiny edge tears but extremely clean. See the following rare jugate for Faris/Brehm. Next in this group is 2.5" stiff cardboard tag showing young boy beneath text "The Home Vs The Saloon." Minor loss of blank surface paper on back. Next is 5" wide die-cut paper sticker shaped like an umbrella. Reads "Keep Dry With The Eighteenth Amendment." 1932 copyright. Exc. Next is 2.5" stiff cardboard tag reading "Compliments Of The Woman's Christian Temperance Union." Other side of the tag reads "Prohibition Is The Best Method." Small edge wear but clean. Next is 1.5" wide gummed sticker reading "Observance And Enforcement/Prohibition/Not Repeal." Tiny stamp hinge residue on back. Next is sticker 1.5" tall with the word "Liquor" in red to spell out the words "Lawless/Iniquitous/Quarrelsome/Unclean/Oppressive/Ruinous." Tiny text calls this design the "Educational Temperance Shield" with a NYC address. Next is large die-cut thin cardboard tag 3-5/8" dia. Reads "Keep California Prosperous/Vote No/Amendments 1 and 2/Both Mean Prohibition." Couple trivial creases. Last is 3.5" tall stiff brown tag with cord inscribed on the front "Vote Wet." Reverse has .5" archival tape repair to a hairline split near the top. A nice group of seldom seen pieces.
