Item Description
1-11/16" button with mint luster brass frame surrounding sharp real photo in brown tone. Text reads "Wm Hale Thompson For Mayor." Button is likely from his 1915 successful campaign. He served as mayor from 1915 to 1923 and again with the support of Al Capone, from 1927 to 1931. He is considered among the most unethical mayors in American history. One of his stunts in the 1927 campaign was to hold a debate between himself and two live rats symbolizing his opponents. Superb condition and scarce. Morry Greener Collection.
