Item Description
.75" from time of his death in 1922. He was born into slavery and became an ordained minister in 1871. As a business man and minister he was the founder and head of the National Baptist Publishing Board and a founder of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. He was an early public advocate for African-American civil rights and worked against the Jim Crow laws enacted to enforce segregation. Scarce and Mint.
