Item Description
This 2.5" real photo button without dot pattern has metal back and bar pin stamped with maker's name Cruver, Chicago. Front of the button includes photographer's credit "Harrington Studios/Photo." Pictured in a large wooden bowl are 11 young basketball players and their coach. The button comes from Logansport High School which claims it had the first school mascot in Indiana, a stuffed Felix the Cat doll brought to a basketball game in 1926, the date on this button. Felix has been the school's mascot ever since. The name "Loganberries" refers to the school's athletic teams and is a pun regarding the city name and the loganberry hybrid of a blackberry and a red raspberry. In our photo right side shows two tiny black marks but this was surface material now removed. The button is Exc. and displays Mint. Only example we've seen.
