Item Description
Dated March 21, 1952 for "Donaldson" bread comic book premium that was never produced. 7.75x11" stiff paper four page folder has design in India ink and watercolor. Front cover has art of miniature Peter Wheat standing on leaf gesturing towards busy bakers loading up tin can wagon labeled "Peter Wheat Bread" which is pulled by mice. Bottom has image of delivery man saying "Your Daily Bread Is My Bread And Butter." Pages three and four have design of four separate six panel pages in comic book format. Basic plot line is Peter and beetle friend finally able to defeat Old Man Winter and welcome spring. Lower right corner tip has tiny crease, otherwise bright and Exc. Superb design. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold. Additional photos online.
