Item Description
From same set as #1232. Glossy photo front with text below portrait "Dreke Base Ball." Top center has .75" tear but mostly only noticeable when viewed closely. This in no way affects the image which remains bold and distinct. Dreke, who from 1918-28, was a star with the Cuban Stars and Almendares Scorpions until he died tragically in 1929 at just 31 of tuberculosis. Dreke was elected to the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1945. The Almendares Scorpions won the championship with Dreke in both 1924-1925 & 1925-1926. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
