Item Description
8.5x10x5" deep oak backing w/high relief hand painted cast aluminum attachment. Seabees was a Disney designed emblem of WWII U.S. Naval construction battalion showing bee flying through air with machine gun wearing navy cap and carrying tools. Around this design is text "Public Works Dept. US FLEACTS Sasebo Japan." This is in reference to a US fleet activities base. Founded in 1946 just after the war and still active today. This plaque dates to the 1960s. Lt. wear, Exc. Great display piece.
