Item Description
3.5x5.5" photo postcard shows Martin in Oakland A's managers uniform and has been signed in black felt tip pen. Martin was first a Major League second baseman (notably making the game-saving catch of the 1952 World Series) who went on to become one of professional baseball's most successful and argumentative managers. Managing the Yankees, he led them to American League pennants in 1976 and 1977 and won the 1977 World Series. He also had success as manager w/several other American League squads, leading four of them to division championships. He managed the Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, New York Yankees (1975–1978, 1979), Oakland Athletics (1980–1982) and then came back to the Yankees (1983, 1985, 1988). Exc. Signature is nice and bold. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
