Item Description
Copyright 1935 King Features Syndicate. This and the following two items #2334-2335 are among the nicest and rarest of all vintage character cookie boxes. Each has different art on front, back, and top. Box is 1.75x5.5x3” deep. This box front has Popeye watching Wimpy trade his hamburger to rough cowboy for bag of gold, then bragging about being rich on box back. Top has Wimpy in cook hat being yelled at by Prof. Geezil in restaurant as Popeye watches. Box is remarkably complete w/original contents. Contains seven complete intact figural cookies: Popeye (2), Swee’Pea (2), Olive Oyl, Geezil, Salty. Rest are in various size pieces inside box. Box has aging but overall Fine. Complete w/original carrying strap.
