Item Description
First is 6x8" hand-written letter on Max stationery dated 18. August. 1967. Letter is to a Mr. Lee and addresses the return of a lithograph not being used in a book being published by Mr. Lee. Max has signed "Psychedelically Yours, Peter Max." Letter has been folded twice as mailed and has staple holes in upper right corner. Fine. Second is typed letter on 8.5x11" "Peter Max Enterprises" letterhead and is dated 9.22.67 and is addressed to same Marshall Lee as in first letter. Letter firmly states Max's disapproval of the use any of his images for use in Lee's book w/o further information. Signed in blue ink. Letter has been folded as mailed and has staple holes in upper left corner. Fine. Great pair from just before Max's breakout success. From the David Baker Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
