Item Description
8.5x11" typed document dated Nov. 30, 1936. Acknowledges the receipt of $700 payment and notes termination of agreement between Crawford and Samuel Goldwyn Inc., Ltd. Crawford was an Academy Award-winning American stage, film, radio and TV actor, often cast in tough-guy roles and known for his starring role in the television series "Highway Patrol." In 1949 he reached the pinnacle of his acting career when he was cast as Willie Stark, a character based on Louisiana politician Huey Long, in "All The King's Men," a film based on the popular novel by Robert Penn Warren. The film was a huge hit, and Crawford's performance as the blustering Governor Stark won him the Academy Award for Best Actor. Crawford has signed in blue ink, as has the Vice President of Samuel Goldwyn Inc., Ltd. Small piece missing from staple pull at top left. Creases at lower right. Fine w/signatures remaining unaffected. Signatures display Exc. From the Phil Delaney Collection. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
