Item Description
Lot of 5. Measuring between 6.75x9.75" and 6.75x9". "G-Men Detective" was published every other month by Better Publications, Inc. Vol.34 No.3, Jan. 1949; Vol.35 No.3, Summer 1949. Each issue has usual and typical overlap wear of front and back covers. First issue has cover by Belarski. First issue has .25" chip out of front right hand corner and both have wear to top and bottom of spine. Pages have tanned and are somewhat brittle. Fine. "The Phantom Detective" was published every other month by Better Publications of Canada. Vol.53 No. 1, Mar. 1949; Vol.53 No.3, Summer 1949. First issue features cover by Belarski and has a .75" tear at upper spine of front cover, results in a folder-over crease to top left-hand corner of cover. Issues have usual and typical overlap wear to front and back covers with some chipping to right-hand margin of second issue measuring 3". Both issues have a Fine appearance. "Black Book Detective" was published quarterly by Better Publications, Inc. This is Vol.26, No. 3, Summer 1949. This issue features a great cover of blond sticking up brunette as masked man looks on in background. Cover has a 2.5" area of spine paper missing due to insect damage and usual overlap wear to front and back covers. Some chipping is evident in this area. Fine. All pages in this lot are intact and with some brittleness in margins.
