Very well made stiff cardboard box has name on hinged lid "Marathon." This opens to reveal fabric and deep red velvet lining. Text on the inner lid fabric names the model "Mara-King" (which also appears on the lighter) with additional text "Holds Twenty Cigarettes/Also King-Size." Comes with its original blue fabric pouch. The piece is 3" wide by 4.75" tall by .5" thick. Front center has shield shape with engraved initials "CL." The piece is of beautiful polished aluminum plus a shaded lighter and darker brown/tan colored front panel which on the reverse covers the entire surface. Top has lighter with just a touch of wear on the fabric wick. Push button on side causes front panel to open exposing a pair of compartments with a pair of fancy brass hinges on springs to hold the cigarettes in place. c. early 1950s and NM displaying Mint. Excellent quality.
