Auction #206 - Part II
Item numbers 1279 through 2976 in auction 206
Item Description
This is the item used for the photo in the Hake Pop Culture guide for JAC-43. This piece, likely designed by Orin Armstrong, was produced by the Robbins Co. for a premium to be used by a local sponsor of the program in the 1930s. The lead plate is 1-1/8x2.25". Underside of the lead has lightly and neatly scratched company identification number of "M5518." This and the previous two items are the final three Jack Armstrong lead proofs our consignor obtained decades ago that originated with a Robbins Co. employee. The raised image displays a wing design with shield at center inscribed "Winfair/W.J.A.C./Ground Member." The initials stand for Winfair Jack Armstrong Club. Mint as made. Unique. The Hake Guide value is $1,900. Very conservative opening bid.
