Issued in 1936 by same French company as item #2754. Album is 6x10" w/16 pages designed to hold the set of 64 cards. Great cover art w/title "Les Geants De La Route" that translates as "The Giants Of The Road." Album has 48 cards mounted at appropriate spots, four cards per page. Also comes w/16 loose cards, 11 are duplicates of those in the album but five are not in the album, so in total this lot has 53 of the set of 64. Missing cards are: 19,22,26,37,39,46,47,49,53,60,61. Cards are 2-3/8x2.5" on thin card stock. Each features close-up portrait of cyclist, many wearing helmet and goggles. Page one includes cards for Tour De France winners of the early-mid 1930s: Leducq, Speicher and Magne. Album has general lt. wear/aging. Fine. Mounted card condition varies w/some having obvious wear and staining, others remain clean. Overall Fair to Exc. visually as mounted. The loose cards show lt. aging but are VG to Exc. A rare gum card issue.
