Item Description
c. 1930s. 7x10x1.75" deep empty box originally contained "72 Count Chocolate Wrapped Taffy With Transfer Picture." Titled "Hot Comics" these transfers featured images of various subjects and were designed to be transferred onto clothing. Lid features image of generic comic strip type boy character roller skating and wearing jacket covered by transfer images including Popeye, boxer, pirate and more. A dog runs by his side. Product text is on all four side panels. Moderate box wear/aging w/1.5" puncture above the dog and 2" edge split at top left but lid corners are tight. VG. Scarce.
