Item Description
1-5/8x2-3/8" Cuban card from set distributed in packs of Diaz cigarettes. The cards in this set feature players from the 1923-24 Cuban Professional League. 85 cards are in the set, the largest and one of the scarcest of all 1920s Cuban card issues. Printed in dark brown with photo on front along with team and player name and position "Santa Clara B.B.C. Tinti Molina - Manager." Card back includes number and description of the series with offer for an album.
Tinti Molina was a player/manager from 1894-1931 in the Cuban and Negro Leagues. He managed Almendares, Habana and the Cuban Stars. He was selected to the Cuban HOF in 1942. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
