Item Description
Lot of six thin artboards, each about 10.75x15.5" for "Adventure Comics" issue #430 published by DC Comics Dec., 1973. Art consists of complete "Adventurers' Club Presents...Whick! Whock! Whick! Whock!" story written by Arnold Drake w/original pen and ink art by Luis Domingues, a prolific DC Comics cover artist known for his supernatural art on titles such as "Ghosts, Weird Western Tales" and "Jonah Hex." Art shows adventurers recounting trip to the Amazon, encountering natives and hearing peculiar "Whick! Whock! Whick! Whock!" noises which turn out to be made by a giant pendulum said to signify the beating of Earth's heart. The adventurer jumps onto the pendulum to save himself, effectively stopping it and causing the natives' village to crumble before the noise begins anew. Reverse of each page has DC Comics copyright stamp. Some pages appear to have a very slight trim to margins, but this does not affect art in any way. Scattered aging and editorial corrections/paste-overs. Art displays VF.
