Item Description
First is 5.5” long felt pennant naming “Van Mungo” accented with glove design inscribed “Dodgers.” NM. Second is 1.25” brass designed as a key fob with hole for a chain. Finish is very dark but details are clear. Front has large portrait with “B” on the cap and surrounding text “Luis Rodriguez Olmo/Puerto Rico.” Reverse has center text “Mejor/Pelotero/Latino-Americano.” Olmo was with the Dodgers 1943-1945 and 1949. At the time he was titled Best Latin American Baseball Player. In 1949 he became the first Puerto Rican to play in a World Series. From the Richard Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake’s COA.
