Item Description
Each piece is 9” tall. The first names “Mudjekeewis Tribe No. 428 Esperance N.Y.” Ribbon holds 1.75” celluloid which has about a half dozen age dots on the background all 1/16” or less. Rest of the piece is essentially Mint. Second item names “Patoka Tribe, No. 97/ Putney, W. Va.” This has celluloid oval on the hanger bar and below is suspended elaborately colored tinted celluloid within a brass frame titled “Member.” Reverse of each ribbon is black/silver for use at member funerals. Minor rippling of the fabric on the second item but no real damage. This group had its origin during the Revolutionary War but adopted this name in 1834 and modeled their rituals and regalia after those used by Native Americans.
