Item Description
15.5" tall tin litho toy comes in original box. 1960s by Masuya, Japan. Box features nice wrap-around art of rockets on the moon and Earth in the bkg. Lower left corner of lid has a .5" tear but o/w box is Exc. Toy has working friction mechanism and is designed to be pushed along with rocket in horizontal position. When the nose cone is struck, spring-loaded mechanism is activated and causes the rocket to stand vertically as door opens and ladder extends. On the inside of the door is an image of an astronaut. Body is marked "Moon Rocket/Danger Hydraulic Stairway." Has scattered minute paint nicks caused at time of production. Toy is Exc., old store stock complete with cardboard sleeve that fits on the nosecone.
