Auction #208 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1277 in auction 208
Item Description
22x28" half-sheet poster for original 1950 release of the biographical film starring baseball legend Jackie Robinson as himself. The film focuses on Robinson's struggle w/the abuse of racist bigots as he becomes the first African-American MLB player of the modern era. Even during its release in the era of racial segregation, the film received critical praise and fared well at the box office. Poster is dominated by image of "The Pride Of Brooklyn" Robinson sliding home in Dodgers uniform. Smaller images of him appear at left and top center. Poster has been rolled and shows some scattered wear w/1" tears at right center and top right margins and creases at edges. Fine overall, w/strong color and bright and clean images area that would frame to a VF appearance.
