Item Description
Photo illustrated box contains 4.5" tall w/8" dia. toy w/hard plastic on bottom half of body, tin litho top half. The name "Space Ship X-5" is repeated twice on top half. Under a clear plastic dome is a three-dimensional astronaut figure in tin litho w/vinyl head. Around him are dials and switches plus fixed transparent plastic disks and antenna unit directly behind him. Toy works and travels around w/bump-and-go action and produces a noise noted as "Beep-Beep Sound" on the box but actually more of a clicking/whirring noise. As the ship moves, the top half rapidly revolves as the antenna spins and the disks inside flash. Made by Masudaya of Japan. 1970s. NM w/great design and working actions. Box shows lt. wear/aging w/some creases and is VF and complete w/original cardboard insert. Old store stock.
