©1989 Matchbox The Fourth New Line-Heron Venture. 14x14x2.25" deep box w/colorful illustrations and photos contains incredibly detailed 9.5" tall doll. Has realistically designed vinyl head of "Maxx", designed to be a master of disguise w/two piece Freddy mask, removable hat, one hand w/bladed glove and a burnt hand. Outfit is striped wool sweater, black pants and boots. Box is tight with lt. storage wear overall and displays VF. Doll is Mint. Back of box shows unproduced outfits for Dracula, Frankenstein and The Alien. The Freddy Krueger Maxx Fx and Talking Freddy Krueger dolls were quickly withdrawn from sale after complaints from the American Family Association. Matchbox halted the production of the second batch of dolls, and did not advertise or promote the dolls in any way as a result of the protest. The prototype development process is shown in this lot of heads. First is a vinyl production sample "Maxx" head, next is a rubber cast 1-1 prototype of the same head. Next is a solid resin cast prototype head followed by 2pc. mask filled with wax that holds it together. The final piece is a 2 pc. fitting mask that has been additionally worked to fit over the rubber head and snap in place like the production mask. Exc. as produced. Amazing detail.
