6.75x8.5” hardcover dated May 24,1883 published by Brooklyn Eagle Job Printing Dept. 122 pages including frontispiece image of bridge . Gilt stamped spine and front cover includes stamped name “R. Stewart”. First blank page has bold fountain pen inscription “Compliments Of Thomas F. Nevins” at top. Nevins became head of the Brooklyn Fire Department in 1870 and was head of the committee which adopted a uniform size for hoses and couplings to more easily fight fires in neighboring communities. Book has minor cover corner and spine tip bumps, slight spine fade. Fine w/VF+ contents. High quality scarce book further enhanced by autograph of noted official. Comes w/Hake’s COA.
