Item Description
First three are on 7x9” “Office Of The Vice President” letterheads. Each with single center fold for mailing. First is dated Dec. 4, 1959. Nixon thanks McLaughlin for sending him an article “Another Quaker In The White House” a story written by McLaughlin about Nixon. Bold 3” signature “Dick Nixon” in black steel-tip fountain pen. Comes with JSA LOA. The remaining three letters are signed “Rose Mary Woods”, Nixon’s Executive Secretary. Next is dated Oct. 29, 1955 and third is dated Dec. 14, 1955. Both express appreciation for the articles that McLaughlin sent to Nixon. Last is on 6x9” “Office Of The President Elect/Richard Nixon” letterhead and dated Dec. 12, 1968. Signed “Rose Mary Woods”, she expresses the very busy schedule that Nixon has and assured McLaughlin that his request for invitations to the 1969 Inauguration would be fulfilled if at all possible (they were). Pencil notations. Bold signature. Two fold lines. All are from the Harry McLaughlin Collection. Nixon letter comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA. The Woods letters come w/Hake's COA and JSA COA.
