Item Description
c.1962 for event held in New Concord, Ohio. Printed by Murray Poster Printing NYC. 18x24" thin cardboard honoring Glenn's Feb.20,1962 Friendship 7 mission, the first to put an American in orbit. Center has nice photo of Glenn in NASA uniform waving. Bottom area lists other Mercury Seven astronauts Alan Shepard, Virgil Grissom, Deke Slayton, Scott Carpenter, Walter Schirra, Gordon Cooper. Scattered small toned age spots, a few lt. creases, a few small edge tears. Good/VG. Glenn went on to a distinguished career as a U.S. Senator 1974-1999, and in 1998 became the oldest person to fly in space. Rare and historic.
