Item numbers 1 through 1277 in auction 208
Item Description
1-1/8 X 2" leather covered case, a bit smaller than what would hold a 1/16 plate daguerreotype, with front cover missing. Case has narrow liner with inset Mint brass luster frame and mat. The oval opening displays 1-1/8" tall high relief precisely detailed silvered shell profile portrait of Clay. The background is black velvet fabric. Case retains hook closure on right side. Small 1/8" dent on bottom side edge of the case. Unusual and Rare. The brass frame and shell are essentially Mint.
