Auction #208 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1277 in auction 208
Item Description
15/16" with rim hole as made. Each candidate's name is printed on the ferrotype itself above each portrait. Brass rim on the Lincoln side reads "Union Of The States 1860" while the Hamlin side reads "The Constitution 1860." The Lincoln ferro has vertical 1/8" streak of emulsion off his face and a few other tiny missing specks but his portrait is very largely complete. On the Hamlin side there is 1/16" emulsion chip off his face which removed the details of his eye on the left side but still the portrait remains largely complete. Much scarcer than most 1860 ferros which simply have their names on the brass frame.
