Item Description
From the same set as #1127. Card front reads "Santa Clara B.B.C. Rojo-Catcher." Slight margin trim but both sides of card remain clean and image is strong. Rojo played in four different decades in the Cuban Winter League and in three decades in the Negro Leagues, perhaps the longest career of a Cuban catcher in the Negro Leagues. Rojo's 21 seasons in the Cuban Winter League were fifth all-time after Jose Maria Fernandez, Chacon, Mike Gonzalez and Martin Dihigo. Inducted into the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1984.
Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
