Item Description
Both done in 1976 at a comic convention. Both sheets are 9x12”. Stout ink drawing has 4.5x6.25” image area w/collector holding “Conan #1” comic book. Signed “To Richard-William Stout 7-26-76”. Potts pencil art has 5.5x9.5” image w/full figure Conan carrying ax. Signed “Carl Potts”. Margins of Stout sheet have bit of age yellowing, both image areas Exc. Artist/illustrator Stout specializes in paleontological art and worked in the comic strip field, but went to film production design. His 30+ credits include both original Conan films. Potts began his comic career in 1975, and is noted for creating the “Alien Legion” series for Marvel’s Epic imprint.
