Item Description
21.75x28.25" cardboard Globe poster for 1956 concert that featured Little Richard, Bill Doggett, Big Joe Turner, The 5 Keys, The Moon Glows, Faye Adams and Big Jay McNeely, all of whom are represented by photo images. Additional acts listed include Etta James and The Peaches, The 5 Satins, Tommy Brown, The Robins and Johnny Torres as MC. Headliners Little Richard and Doggett have largest photos at top and Little Richard has "Hee Bee Jee Bee, Ready Teddy" and "Rip It Up" song titles listed as well as Specialty Records label. Marquee area at top remains blank w/some scattered minor age spotting. Poster has some scattered restoration along upper left edges, though this does not affect Little Richard's image. 5.5" vertical tear at bottom center has been restored. Poster remains bright and bold. Fine. Wonderful poster featuring seven future members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This poster (in lesser condition) has sold for as much $11,700 at auction.
