Item Description
4" dia. fully hand-painted by Marx factory artist over production tin litho top w/string and spool intact at top center. Top of top has painted scene showing Trylon & Perisphere buildings w/"New York World's Fair - 1939 - The World Of Tomorrow" painted text and small Marx logo. Underside is marked "Model No. 753 - Girard - 3-16-39" indicating this prototype was made in Girard, PA. in 1939. Top was ultimately never produced. Moderate scattered aging/wear to top w/all over lt. oxidation. Underside shows lt. wear/aging. Fine overall. From the John Bowers Collection.
