3-5/8x6.5" First Day Cover (FDC) envelope for the "In Memoriam Eleanor Roosevelt 1884-1962" stamp bears Oct. 11, 1962 Washington DC postmark and has been signed by "The First Lady Of Civil Rights" Rosa Parks (1913-2005) in black felt tip pen, adding "3/10/91" date. Parks' refusal to give up her bus seat to a white passenger and the Montgomery Bus Boycott became important symbols of the modern Civil Rights Movement. She became an international icon of resistance to racial segregation. Signature is a bit light but still totally legible. Envelope has lt. handling wear/aging. VF w/an Exc. signature area. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
