Item Description
11x17" thin artboard featuring original pen and ink art by noted modern comic book artist George Perez for the May, 1979 issue of "Marvel Two-In-One" #51 published by Marvel Comics. Art has been inked by Joe Sinnott. The cover features an array of Marvel characters (Perez is known for his group comic book covers and images) including Thing of The Fantastic Four front and center, surrounded by Beast of The X-Men and The Avengers, Ms. Marvel and Wonder Man of The Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury. The issue itself was written by Peter Gillis and featured the first "Floating Super-Hero Poker Game" hosted by Thing. Great cover features paste-over word balloons for Wonder Man who yells "Avengers Assemble!" and Thing, who shouts "It's Clobberin' Time!" In addition, cover has "Marvel Two-in-One" title paste-over as well as "each character's name logo and "A Gathering Of Heroes" text paste-over at lower right. In addition, art has Marvel Comics Thing company imprint paste-over at upper left. White correctional fluid touch-ups by paste-overs and Thing's raised fist. Sheet has various inked notations at top margin, including Sinnott's signature. Perez has signed his name in black felt tip pen at lower left. Sheet has some lt. margin handling wear w/staple holes at top left corner and scattered moisture staining at bottom right corner as well as some scattered margin aging. .5" stain at center right margin. Most of art remains unaffected. Page is Fine overall, while art areas remain bold, clean and Exc. Come w/a reading copy of this comic.
