Item Description
Art is matted and framed under UV light protection glass in a beautiful vintage shadow box style walnut frame 14x16x3” deep with a gold inner border. Image area is 9.5x11.5”. Scene is bordered by inked text: “Our Country Now United / Mournes (sic) The Loss/Of Its Beloved Father/Abraham Lincoln.” Shields accent the corners. Center monument with text “A. Lincoln 1809–1865” has urn above with entwined initials “A. L.” Grass accents below the scene with what appear to be weeping willow branches above. At right is Liberty figure with shield and Liberty Cap on a pole. At left a bare foot former black slave holds a hanky in one hand with a rolled “Emancipation” document in the other. Displays Mint. Unique.
