Item Description
First is .75" stud by Gleason c. 1896 showing early style ballot box with an eagle perched above against sunburst. This was an early symbol of democracy used in political cartoons. The next five buttons are all 7/8" and from four different early presidential sets. The first two were issued by "Peerless Bread" picturing Van Buren which is clean and Hayes which has a touch of stain on upper right rim edge. This set ended with Taft 1908. Next is beautiful color portrait of "Garfield" on gold. This is from a set which we believe went through Theodore Roosevelt, 1904. Next is for Chester Arthur from American Pepsin Gum Set made by W&H and which ended with McKinley. Last is also of Arthur with back paper by "The Old Homestead Bread Co/Denver." This set went through Wilson. The last three buttons are NM displaying Mint.
