Item Description
10x11" wide, size 7 officer's hat signed by World War II Flying Ace Richard Bong. Bong was the most successful US Fighter Pilot of World War II having downed 40 enemy planes. He was presented with the Congressional Medal of Honor by General MacArthur. Offered here is his officer's hat which has his signed name card in a plastic sleeve in top of hat. Card is signed "Richard I Bong" and has his full printed name Richard Ira Bong above. This card is signed in black ink as is leather headband on right. Hat has some slight fabric pulls on top left front of hat and a small section above gold band. Vinyl visor has some cracking due to age but hat retains an Exc. appearance. Signatures are bold and Exc. Accompanying image is for catalog display purposes only. Comes with a letter of authenticity from Hake’s.
