Item Description
Each of the buttons depicts a swallow presenting an American flag to a robin. The 7/8", without back paper, reads "In Vain The Net Is Spread/In The Sight Of Any Bird." The 1" button has back paper text that applies to both buttons. This reads "Swallow & Carroll Are The Prohibition Nominees For Pres. & Vice Pres./Mrs. Swallow's Maiden Name Was Robins." The front of this button is dated 1904 and has the text "When The Swallow's Homeward Fly, They Will Carroll Throughout The Sky./Down With Bar, Saloon And Still, Peace On Earth, To Men Good Will." Both buttons are NM displaying Mint. Lot includes 6" tall rwb fabric ribbon with gold text "Swallow And Carroll." The ribbon is NM and the first we've seen.
